This pendant originated in ancient Rome, where the gods were part of daily life and superstition coexisted with reason. From this place a symbol imbued with power was born: the fascinus. A small winged phallus considered profoundly sacred and charged with vital energy. Its name comes from the Latin verb fascinare, meaning "to bewitch" or "to protect with magic." The fascinus was, literally, what warded off evil with its enchanting power.
