Always light under supervision. To get the most out of your candle, you should let it burn until the entire wax surface becomes liquid. If you don't, the candle will burn poorly, leaving a hole around the wick that cannot be recovered. It is advisable to trim the wick if it is longer than half a centimetre (always before lighting) to ensure good combustion.
