I’ve been a barber since I was a teenager but first came into my own in the industry when I decided to travel the world and document the barbering business. I realised that there wasn’t a lot of information about international barbering, especially in countries like India, Nepal or China. I saw a real opportunity to blend my love of travelling and photography with my passion for people and barbering. Being able to visit so many countries and meet so many barbers was impressive. I learned a lot from my travels, both personally and professionally. The symbolic side of cutting hair is fascinating, from a baby’s first haircut on the “full moon” in China to the status that hair brings to a Masai man in Africa. Travelling has been a huge inspiration to me, my profession and my barbershops in London and Berlin.
