Following a diplomatic mission to the West, a galleon carrying a delegation of samurai sails the dark ocean currents. Laden with rare and precious cargo, the ship’s hull smells of sweet-smelling tropical woods, enveloping Spanish leather, incense, black pepper and other exotic ground spices – the heady spirit of a singular and extraordinary voyage of discovery.
